Abreu & Lima Refinery (FEED and Detail Engineering)
RNEST, a refinery under development in the state of Pernambuco, is the first to be built in Brazil after a nearly 30-year gap. It will process 230 thousand barrels of heavy oil per day, supplying the Northeast of Brazil with diesel and LPG. Chemtech mobilized a team of more than 500 engineers across all disciplines to develop the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and detail engineering of the refinery's primary on-site units. We were also tasked with complementary design, consistency analysis, FEED and detail engineering for the emissions abatement (SNOX) units, Power House and substations. Our scope of work also included issuing purchase requisitions for non-critical equipment, issuing technical opinions on bids, verifying vendor documentation for all equipment and providing technical support during construction and assembly of refinery equipment.
