Chemtech's solution for tablets speeds up audits for Coca-Cola in Brazil and Mexico

Chemtech, specialized in engineering services and IT solutions, transformed tablets into powerful work tools for Coca-Cola in Brazil and Mexico. Starting in 2012, the units of the greatest soft drink manufacturer in the world installed in the two countries will have at their disposal a system that allows for the processing of quick and efficient audits of the Coca-Cola products machines installed in diners and fast food chains. These are the equipments that mix the drink from which the servers take the soft drink and dispense the product directly for consumption. The information generated by the new system will be sent to Atlanta, in the USA, to be inserted in the company’s central data base.

It is a web application for tablets, which will centralize and manage all the information collected by Coca-Cola auditors during the evaluation of their equipment, dispensing with the use of traditional worksheets. In order to develop the new system, Chemtech has been working directly with the future users in Brazil and Mexico.

“This is a pilot project that, if implemented successfully, can be expanded for use throughout the world”, says Alessandra Mendes, senior systems analyst who works at Chemtech with five other people in the creation of the system. One of them is the designer Mariana Lucchesi, responsible for the layout that will be applied for Apple’s operating system, iOS, and for Google’s Android 3.2.

“It’s a different language, because it involves another kind of interaction of the user with the device. In the tablet, the touch has a direct influence on the form and on the content. That is why we are concerned with usability. We want to transform this into the most fluid tool possible”, Mariana points out. “The greatest challenge is to adapt this site for other devices too, such as cell phones and regular computers. This was the client’s request and we hope to satisfy him in the best way possible”.
